Assembly.—The outfit as assembled foruse is shown in Fig. 4. The induction coil isplaced upon a chair or suitable bench atthe bedside and the instrument box andcoil in some convenient position nearby.A plate-changing tunnel (Fig. 5) is usuallyused for holding the plate in the envelopeor cassette. Carrying Case.—For transporting the complete outfit to the bedside, the tube isplaced in a felt-lined wooden case, andthis, together with the instrument box,connecting wires, plates, etc., is packed inone large carrying case (Fig. 6), 27 incheslong, loj/^ inches wide and 19 inches high.The coil and the interrupter are carriedseparately. Operation.—The outfit is intended to beoperated on about 115 volts D.C., andunder these conditions will give 10 milli-amperes at about a 4I o-inch parallel spark A
