will stand the test ofsulphide toning without any depreciation of depth or tone. The keynote of success in this method of producing bromidepostcards is the exposure. This must be carefully ascertainedso that the cards can be developed in batches of the numbergiven without forcing from under-exposure on the one handor hurry from over-exposure on the other. Developmentshould proceed gradually and evenly and occupy until com-pleted about four minutes. It is an extremely expeditious andreliable method of working for producers of moderate quanti-ties of cards which I have thoroughly tested by daily use forthe last ten years. Of course it cannot compare with theproduction of machine printing, but it is at least the equal ofthe bulk of single card printing machines on the market.Working single handed I have frequently printed, developedand fixed at the rate of one hundred cards an hour withoutany attempt at establishing a record, and with a good assistantmuch more could, of course, be done.
