The room which I am about todescribe was intended for commercial work only, but I findthat there is, after all, very little difference in the requirements.To be as brief as possible and to bridge over gaps in the de-scription, I have supplied two pictures (Figures- i and 2) anda diagram (Figure 3). The room is about eight by sixteen feet as shown on thediagram, and is intended to be used for all photographic opera-tions except possibly drying and mounting. The equipment consists of the following, which you willnote on the pictures and diagram. (Figure i.) Beginning onthe left you will note first the plate rack which is attached tothe wall and has a draining trough under it, and is made tohold about four dozen plates at one time. Next, you will note the folding table for copying and en-larging, with a camera in position on it and also one of thelamps in position. 155 the wall while the table folds up against the wall also, asshown in Figure 2. In front of the camera at the end of the room is the copyboard 32 x 48 inches. It is hung on the wall by means of anaxis at the center on which it may be revolved. It can also beraised or lowered so as to bring the center on a level with thelens which is being used. It is not necessary to shift it side-wise as that is taken care of by the fixed position of the tablewhich is hinged to the wall. There is a folding shelf belowthe copy board, and in the corner at the left is a stand onwhich is kept two large blotter books for drying prints. Inthe right hand corner is the plate washer of the regular type,next is the large sink, and above this on the wall is a smallcupboard or cabinet. On the end of the large table is a print washer, which isconstructed from a large galvanized tub with a hose and spraynozzle emptying completely and periodically by means of asiphon attachment.
