Ofcourse, the side of the face away from the window will be inshadow, but this can easily be lightened up and to meet re-quirements by simply reflecting the outside light on to theshadow side. Experience is the best teacher and more canbe learned by a few tests than by trying to tell you just howto do it. Now, as to home-portraiture, I can only say in conclusionthat if you once try it and will persist in trying it till you feelthat you can make a good picture of your wife and children,your relatives or your friends, if you will persist in yourefforts till this conclusion is reached, and your subjects arewilling to concede that you can make a satisfactory portrait,then I am sure you will admit that home portraiture is oneof the most pleasant features of photography, and that forthe time and efforts spent you have been well rewarded, andthere will be no regrets on your part other than the wish thatyou had made the trial sooner.
