So as to readily explain itsuse and not confuse the reader, this sample report covers theDark roo:n, Printing Dept., Bromide room, Chemical roomand Finisher, where as a matter of fact each operator turnsin an individual daily report slip rendering an account of allwork he has completed. In the Remarks space additional information as to thenumber of prints spoiled (from all sources) need of any par-ticular article, chemicals to be ordered or repairs required,is generally noted. It will be noticed that this method ofkeeping tabs on the working Depts. render at all times anaccurate knowledge as to the amount of work produced andthe addition of each report slip gives the days gross output. From the billing basket we take the duplicate order slip,now showing the necessary data thereon, and also the originalorder slip from the file all ready for billing. Using a billhead and bond paper duplicate of uniform size with theorder slips, the charge is made as in figure 5, ready forthe Daily file previous to posting. Acct. On the left hand side a rubber stamp imprints POSTED Acct.before filing under 7 (May 7th) in the Macy Desk file(shown to the left on the desk bed in Figure 6) together withall orders, purchases, invoices and credits, etc., as came to 213 hand May 7th, 1913. These papers may be handled at anyleisure moment and posted direct to the 5x8 ledger cards.(Figure 7.)
