bright lights appearrequires more bromide than one where the lights are notextreme. Too much bromide is deleterious. A word as to how to make exposures might be some assist-ance to those who are not familiar with the subject. Standyour camera in a position where pedestrians or passing vehicleswill not be apt to disturb you. Focus upon the scene you wishto take, insert the plate and draw the slide, and then wait.Dont be in a hurry to take the picture but watch for anopportune time. There will be occasional moments when allthose in range of the camera will appear quiet at once. Thenis the time to be ready and to open your shutter. Hold itopen as long as you see no movement. The length of ex-posure necessary will, of course, depend upon the amount oflight surrounding the scene being photographed, and willrange from one to four or even six seconds. Maybe just asyou open your shutter someone will move sufficiently to spoilthe plate. Dont be discouraged but insert another and tryagain. 232
