Text Appearing Before Image:
shown here must notbe taken as a standard to work to, but merely as startingpoints or finger-posts to higher results. These are made up on large mounts of a suitable tint, say8 X 10 inches, and then reduced by copying to postal size.Dried leaves, grasses, ferns, grains, with prints from suitablesubject will all combine to form the basis of some greeting.Do not aim to crowd in too much material in making thedesign, as that will destroy much of the effect when it isreduced to the size of a post card. The simpler these cardsof greetings are the better they will be liked, and a sincereeffort to make them convey a message will often result ina harmonious conception. I have been in the habit of sending out each year to friendsand relatives some new combination on cards like these, andthat they are appreciated more than those purchased in thestores is evidenced by the remarks that greet the arrival ofone of these inexpensive missives of ones affection. Just try it once and see for yourself.
