Chrome alum (pure) 15 grammes Bisulphate of potash 5 Citric acid 2 The bisulphate of potash should not be confounded with thebisulphite of potash, which will not do at all. Oxidizing acids alone, such as sulphuric, hydrochloric andnitric, are apt to produce free bromine, and if used at all shouldbe used fresh for every two prints. The proportion is aboutI part of acid to 300 parts of water. Certain neutral salts and.boric acid may be added to theozobrome solution to modify the physical condition of thegelatine, thus, boric acid or nitrate of soda will render thedevelopment easier and give clean high lights. Sulphate ofmagnesium (Epsom salts) and sulphate of soda (Glaubersalts) will raise the melting point of the gelatine and is auseful addition in hot weather. The proportion of these saltsmay be 2 per cent, of the diluted or working ozobrome bath. 196
