Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe American Soldier, 1814.jpeg |
English: The War of 1812 was the birth of the Army General Staff. Staff officers are typically reponsible for strategic level thinking and planning, not leading a unit in the field. This was a major step forward in the professionalism and development of the Army's officer corps since it created a body dedicated to "big picture" thinking for the Army. A general staff officer is standing on the left with a field grade officer standing next to him. |
