Description
English: Monument erected to the Heroes of the Alamo and now standing at the entrance to the State House at Austin Texas, from "A Texas Scrap Book" by D. W. C. Baker pub 1875. Publisher A. S. Barnes & Company. It is ten feet high, and is constructed of the stones taken from the ruins of the Alamo. This monument was the first official state historical monument, and was replaced in 1891.
