Summary

Description
English: Illustration showing the horse riding accident to Chief Commissioner Sir Edward Bradford in Rotten Row. The newspaper caption includes the following text: 'We regret to have to record that as Sir E. Bradford, the Chief Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, was riding in Rotten Row on Aug. 13, he met with a serious accident. The horse suddenly crossed his legs and fell, throwing Sir Edward on his head, which rendered him unconscious. Two doctors were happily present, who attended to him, and ordered his removal home, on the way to which he recovered consciousness. The horse in falling rolled over one of Sir Edward’s legs, but did not injure it. We are glad to hear as we go to press that Sir Edward Bradford has recovered from the accident.
