| Description |
English: The 'Bolton Arms', Old Basing, Hampshire. The Old Basing area was a hotbed of conflict during the Civil War period, and many buildings now have names such as 'Cavalier Cottage' or 'Cromwell Cottage' associated with those times. But the Bolton Arms was there even before the civil war, and, had Oliver Cromwell been a drinking man, which by all accounts he wasn't, he might well have stepped into this pub for a pint. Certainly the beer is excellent in 2007. |
