Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The 'Admiral Lord Rodney' This pub has seen it all. Now isolated, it was until the 1930s surrounded by the small houses and factories of Colne's Waterside area, notorious for bad housing and most of the other evils that this usually generates. In the mid-19th century the pub was a hot-bed of Chartism, so much so that a secret Government informer was infiltrated as a barman. If there had ever been an English Revolution, it might well have started here.
