On the return of Sir John in1407, we find him receiving a payment of money to discharge the fees of thecostumiers from the Duke of Albany, who had been elected to the high office ofLord High Chamberlain and Regent of Scotland on the death of Robert HI.,which took place during the absence of Sir John in France, on the 14th April 1406.The dukes name appears in this record :— 1407.
