Beautiful "Forbidden Garden"

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "Forbidden Garden" (Taman Larangan) in front of Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum (Muzium Istana Kesultanan Melaka), an interpretation of the garden where royal princesses at the time of the Malacca sultanate used to enjoy and only certain people allowed to enter.

Based on the interpretive plaque, it has never been clearly recorded that such a garden actually existed at the palace. However, this garden is nonetheless visualized, that if such a garden existed, it would have taken the appearance as laid out. Plus, the interpretive plaque mentioned about the chronicles by a Chinese traveler who have described such a garden having existed and held various trees that were abundantly fruiting.

The museum located in Melaka City, Melaka, Malaysia. (Near by A' Famosa) Built at the base of St Paul’s Hill in Malacca, forms an identical replica of the original 15th-century palace. It showcases the history of the region.

Sultan Mansur Shah’s seven-tiered palace was built entirely without nails and supported with carved, wooden pillars and featured a copper and zinc roof. The most elaborate royal palace ever constructed in the world in 1459 – it was destroyed the year after the sultan ascended the throne when it was struck by lightning.
