| Description | So that's our train- all set and ready to go. This is taken from the front end. Yes, despite being a simple rectangular metal frame with bamboo slats, these 'trains' do have a front and a rear- the rear end is the one with the engine. And a portion of the floor that can be pressed down to activate the brakes. Ingenious! I believe there is a local industry in that area turning out these Norries. All that will disappear once proper trains are put on, if at all they ever are, though there has been talk of it since 2009. A fair bit of local industry and livelihood will be lost when that happens. The assistant who helped our driver put the train together looks on as I photograph the vehicle.
