I flew from CM to Bangkok and again from there to India. Had I taken the earlier Bangkok Airways flight, I could have avoided one hop, and simply done LP-Bkk-Maa (India), Oh well. But in the end, it worked out to my advantage- this was a fairly new aircraft, and thanks to the five hour transit at Chiang Mai, and the almost mandatory requirement of taking out a visa for Thailand, I managed to see a bit of Chiang Mai too! The only down side was, I faced a severe sugar drop soon after I boarded this aircraft, and had to beg the stewardess for a satchet of sugar to get my sugar levels back on track. A little sweaty inconvenience, but in the end I survived, and managed to enjoy Chiang Mai as well. (Luang Prabang, Laos/ Lao PDR, April 2014) |
