I got called into work this afternoon to work a few hours this evening. After my shift was over, my attention was drawn to something new, the Thank You board. I didn't think I had any myself since I've only worked about eight days. I was pleased to see that I had two. Turns out that whomever has the most notes each month wins the Employee of the Month. They get a $25 gift certificate to the mall as their reward. Of course, whomever has been the employee of the month the most throughout the year becomes the employee of the year at the end of the year. Not sure what the prize is for winning that title. Mostly I don't really care, but the competitive side of me is wanting to win that title. The title doesn't give me the incentive to do a good job because I'll do my best no matter what. The two notes were enough for my ego, honestly. I felt so warm and bubbly after seeing them that I left a big note for everyone saying that they were so awesome for helping me out with my training the past week. I love my job. |
