| Description |
English: The Thaipo, Taipo, Typo or Typho is the bigger version of a momo. It originated in Tibet and is quite popular in North Eastern India as a fast food. It can be found readily in Sikkim and West Bengal. A dough is made out of flour, water and salt(optional). It is then placed on a plane surface dusted with flour and kneaded until all stickiness is gone. It is then placed in a bowl or tray, covered with a wet cloth and set aside to rest for an hour or so. The filling consists of finely chopped cabbage, onions, ginger, garlic, seasoning, mashed boiled eggs and boiled pieces of chicken. The vegetables are all mixed with refined oil or dalda. The eggs and the chicken are then added and the coverings are stuffed with this mixture. The Thaipo is then steamed for about an hour. |
