| Description |
English: At the east of Chiang Mai city there is a two-layer city wall. There is Ta Pae Road connected with the Ping River to the city passing the external layer of the Ta Pae city gate at Saen Farng Temple direct to the internal layer of Ta Pae city gate. Ta Pae road used to be an economic area so there are several shops and temples located along both sides of the road such as Bupparam Temple, Saen Farng Temple, Mahawan Temple, and Chettawan Temple. There are various magnificent styles of architecture along this road. In B.E. 2554 (2011) local government has had a policy to promote walking streets on Sunday so this has created a new bustling economic area. Merchants from Chiang Mai and other northern parts bring a variety of merchandice to sell here. There are variety of musical shows and cultural activities on the road. It has become a highly popular place in Chiang Mai which is full of tourists from both other parts of Thailand and foreign countries. |
