Description
English: Title page of "Théorie Nouvelle de la Rotation des Corps", thought to be the first publication of the so-called "tennis racket theorem" of mechanical rotation. This theorem says that rotating around the the axis with the middle moment of inertia (the second axis) will unavoidably produce a simultaneous half turn in the third axis. Published in 1852.
