English: Teresa of Ávila's walking stick (walking cane) in Argentina. This relic has become a symbol of St. Teresa’s own spiritual journey.
The walking stick, encased in a crystal box, is part of the 144-day “Path of Light” pilgrimage tour that began in Ávila, Spain, on 15 October, 2014 (her feast day), and has stopped at Discalced Carmelite centers worldwide. The pilgrimage tour was organised by the Discalced Carmelites to celebrate the fifth centenary of the birth of St. Teresa of Jesus, and will end in Ávila on 28 March (her birthday), 2015. Español: Bastón o báculo de Teresa de Ávila, en Argentina. Esta reliquia se ha convertido en un símbolo del camino espiritual de la propia santa Teresa.
Con motivo de la preparación para la celebración del quinto centenario del nacimiento de santa Teresa de Jesús, el bastón, resguardado por una caja vidriada, se trasladó en una peregrinación de 144 días conocida como "Camino de la Luz", que comenzó en Ávila, España, el 15 de octubre del 2014 (día de su fiesta), y se detuvo en los principales centros de carmelitas descalzas en todo el mundo. El recorrido de la peregrinación, organizado por la propia Orden, finalizará en Ávila el 28 de marzo (cumpleaños de la santa) de 2015. |
