Palm Sunday Christ The art-historical term for this statue type is the Palmesel: Christ in red fabric cape over polychrome royal robes, riding an ass and holding a "palm branch" of aluminum foil. Polychrome; glass eyes, carved hair; fabric cape; about 4' (120 cm.).
