Summary
[edit]DescriptionTemporary Work Bridge Extends into Wetlands Near Yadkin River.jpg |
English: This picture, taken in December 2010, shows the temporary work bridge over the Yadkin River, which will support the equipment and manpower needed to build the new I-85 bridges.
A crew of 25 started constructing the bridge on the south side of the river and are building one span at a time until they reach the other side of the river. They rely on four 250-ton cranes to do the heavy lifting, with a fifth on the way to assist with future drilling. In this image, 15 of 130 spans of the bridge have been installed. Completion is expected by spring 2011. |
