Summary
[edit]DescriptionTemple Adath Israel, Lexington, Kentucky.jpg |
English: Temple Adath Israel, located at 124 North Ashland Avenue in Lexington, Kentucky, hosts Lexington's first Jewish congregation, established in 1904. Their original synagogue on Maryland Avenue is still standing. The congregation, which is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism, relocated to the current building in 1926. It was expanded in 1950 and 1955, but those expansions were removed, and the sanctuary partially altered, in a remodeling done in 1984. (Source: Kaintuckeean article) |
