Summary
[edit]DescriptionTelstar solar cells, c 1980s. (9660571563).jpg | A cell like this one from the communications satellite 'Telstar' will produce only a small voltage, but a large number of cells wired together provides all the energy needed to receive and transmit signals to and from the Earth. It is possible to use solar cells on Earth as an alternative source of energy, but they are better suited to provide the smaller amounts of energy needed by small spacecraft. |
