Dulce Nombre de Jesús (Local name for this crudifix, whose feast day is January 15, as it is generally in Dominican communities for the feast of the Holy Name of Jesus — see Wikipedia entry.) Cross: green dowels with gold trefoils and metal end caps. Figure: dark polished wood, metal crown in a single piece combining the cruciform halo with a crown of thorns in a circular weave pattern, painted wounds, stiffened cloth loincloth; about 2' (60 cm.).
