| Description |
English: Teignmouth Harbour entrance at spring low tide The only way to see this treacherous harbour entrance is with a panoramic view showing the sand banks. The channel between the sand banks has to be dredged on a daily basis to ensure a safe passage in and out for the cargo boats which use this south coast port. The action of the tides causes the sand banks to be constantly moving. A sand bank like this is also referred to as a sand bar.
