Description
Français : Cette région se trouve sur la bordure nord-ouest du pluton hercynien du Quérigut, composé de granite, de gabbro et d'autres roches ignées intrusives. Voir:

Le Pic de Tarbésou (altitude : 2 364 mètres) se trouve juste au-delà de ce pluton et fait partie de l'encaissant du pluton (les formations plus anciennes dans lesquelles le magma du pluton a été intrudé). Le Tarbésou repose sur des métasédiments (schistes, etc) du groupe de Jujols d'âge cambrien (c500 Ma). (En médaillon - des métasédiments au sommet.) Voir:

L'Étang Bleu ("Rabassoles bleu") se trouve dans une combe à la tête d'une vallée qui a été glaciée pendant des cycles froids de la période quaternaire. Voir:

English: This area is on the NW edge of the Quérigut hercynian pluton, made up of granite, gabbro and other intrusive igneous rocks.

Pic de Tarbésou (altitude: 2,364 mètres) lies just beyond this pluton, and is part of the pluton's "encaissant" (the older formations into which the magma of the pluton was intruded). Tarbésou is underlain by metasediments (schist, etc) of the Jujols group of Cambrian (c500 Ma) age. (Inset - metasediments on the summit.)

Étang Bleu ("Rabassoles bleu"), lies in a combe at the head of a valley which was glaciated during cold cycles of the Quaternary period.
