Summary
[edit]DescriptionTannoura Dancers - 2016.jpg |
English: A trio of dancers during the finale of the El Tannoura Show at the Wekalet El Ghouri Art Center in Cairo, Egypt. While commonly referred to as the "Whirling Dervish" show, the performance includes musicians, a muezzin singing religious songs, and the dancers. The Tannoura dance is similar to the dances done by Sufi "whirling dervishes" but is indigenous to Egypt and is not rooted in the Sufi tradition.
