Deutsch: Der Gefängnisturm in Tangermünde. Es handelt sich um einen 1480 zur Sicherung des Zuganges zur Burg erbauten Rundturm. Im Erdgeschoß befand sich das Verließ, dem der Turm seinen Namen verdankt. Eine Plattform mit Zinnenkranz bildete den Abschluß des Turmes bis 1902 ein Kegeldach aufgesetzt wurde, mit dem der Turm eine Höhe von 37 m erreichte.
English: The prison tower in Tangermünde, Germany. It is a round tower built in 1480 to secure the access to the castle. The dungeon, to which the tower owes its name, was on the first floor. A platform with battlements formed the top of the tower until 1902 when a conical roof was put on, with which the tower reached a height of 37 m (120 ft).
