Summary
[edit]DescriptionTamper-evident unrepeatable-pattern security principle demonstrated by using rice patterns.png |
English: When securing electronic devices, such as computers and smartphones, physically securing them to ensure no physical tampering, can sometimes appear to be difficult and/or expensive to do. However, using cheap and effective tamper-evidence mechanisms can induce such devices to be physically secured to the extent that after potential tampering has been detected, the devices can be repaired, reinstalled, or replaced (to overcome any tampering.) Strong tamper-evident mechanisms do not need to be expensive, and can even use household items that are also cheaply available, such as rice. This image demonstrates how rice can be used as such a tamper-evidence mechanism. |
