English: Tall Ships 2008 - Canning Dock 'Asgard II' is seen here berthed in Canning Dock close to the old Pump House. 'Asgard II' is a brigantine, which was designed for sail training and was built in Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. It is owned by the State but is not a naval vessel. More information about all the ships in the 2008 race is available at: http://www.tallshipsliverpool.co.uk/
Sadly 'Asgard II' was lost in the Bay of Biscay on September 11th, 2008. All hands were saved. |
