Description

Leningrad Spring 1977

I am sitting in a 1975 Buick when I took this - my father purchased it with the intention of making a certain impression in the Leningrad, and it often did.

This is not meant as a statement one way or the other about the United States or the then-Soviet Union. But there is no denying that in a country where car production was completely controlled, a somewhat flashy Buick attracted attention.
