Deutsch: Die Gussplatte zeigt in der Mitte zwei Tauben (Adler?), die sich mit den Schnäbeln über einen (Lebens)Baum berühren. Darüber steht eine Adelskrone. Einfaches Rankwerk füllt den übrigen Bereich der Gussplatte, der durch einen geradlinig versetzt verlaufenden Doppelrahmen umschlossen wird. Im oberen Bereich trägt die Gussplatte die Inschrift: NUNCKIRCHEN unten die Jahreszahl 1729.
Die Gussplatte wurde offensichtlich anlässlich des Todes des Ehepaars Gottbill/Bauer (1729) gegossen, die beiden schnäbelnden Tauben stehen als Symbol für die sich liebenden Eheleute. Das Eisenwerk in Nunkirchen wurde ab 1715 von den wallonischen Hüttenleuten Gottbill, den Brüdern Johann Baptist und Carl (I), gegründet. Ab 1724 zog sich Johannes Baptist vermutlich krankheitsbedingt aus dem Geschäft zurück. Johannes Baptist starb am 29. Freilichtmuseum Roscheider Hof |
