The first part of the journey took us slowly out of Vancouver, via a railyard lined with parked up freight vehicles. Like this one with some Alberta based advertising. Funnily enough we were heading to Alberta. But not Oyen. I had no idea what was at Oyen so I looked at Wikipedia. It said "Oyen is the service centre for a large but sparsely populated dryland farming area. In the surrounding area wheat, barley, and canola are important crops, and beef cattle are raised." I'll be taking my next holiday in Oyen! |
