"Adolf Hitler and Reich President Paul von Hindenburg shake hands in church interior, propagandistic depiction relocates Hitler's 1933 appointment as Reich Chancellor to a Protestant church."

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "Adolf Hitler and Reich President Paul von Hindenburg shake hands in church interior, propagandistic depiction relocates Hitler's 1933 appointment as Reich Chancellor to a Protestant church." Painting based on File:Bundesarchiv Bild 183-S38324, Tag von Potsdam, Adolf Hitler, Paul v. Hindenburg.jpg.

In Germany there is a debate going on, that Theo Eisenhart's photo only gained iconic fame after the war. In this cropped painting, however, you can see an adaptation where the meeting between Adolf Hitler and Paul von Hindenburg has been placed in the church. Hitler doesn't bow like in the photo but seems proud and on even footing with the much taller Hindenburg.
