English: This is the grave of Ōkubo Tadataka en:Ōkubo Tadataka(1560-1639) This is the grave of member of a Japanese feudal family who supported Tokugawa Ieyasu and helped bring about the formation of the Tokugawa shogunate. He kept a secret diary/chronicle of the events that led up to the formation of the Shogunate and after, leaving behind an important first hand account from a privileged position within the Shogunate. He had to keep his chronicles secret as with peace the position of his clan declined and he recorded his discontent of the new regime. The chronicle was kept within the family until the 19th century when it became public. His chronicles the "Three Rivers Stories" became the basis of Kabuki performances and later a 1973/1974 historical TV series.
