Description
Français : Copie de 1250 ou 1325 de la carte du Nord de la France et de la Belgique par Al-Idrissi (extraite de la Tabula Rogeriana, 1154), rédigée en arabe. Elle est orientée vers le sud, mais en réalité l'est se trouve en haut. Dans la partie inférieure de la carte, le long de la côte depuis la pliure, nous avons : Saint-Nicolas puis Utrecht. En remontant les deux rivières, nous avons Bruges, Gand et Tournai. Nous arrivons finalement à une île : Liège
English: =1250 or 1325 copy of a map of Northern France and Belgium by Arab geographer Al Idrissi (extract from the Tabula Rogeriana, 1154). The map, South oriented, shows several cities in Arabic : Saint Nicolas, Utrecht, then Bruges, Gand and Tournai, until arriving to Liège.
