Description
Español: Traducción desde las Tablas Alfonsíes, manuscrito 7856, obra de Juan de Sajonia (astrónomo). Agregüé unas columnas en el actual sistema decimal correspondiente al sistema sexagesimal ptolemaico. Corrección: las celdas en fondo rosa, son datos corregidos tomados del Incunable 1612, publicado por Erhard Ratdolt en 1483.

El período "orbital" de Mercurio fue calculado seguramente desde una posición en el cielo hasta una misma posición siguiente (ej. entre elongaciones máximas en el atardecer) y luego su movimiento medio. Por ejemplo, Mercurio desde una conjunción inferior a la siguiente pasan en promedio unos 115,878496691911 días (período sinódico), y 360° / 115,878496691911 días = 3,10670236736968 [°/día] o en sistema sexagesimal 0,3;6,24,7,42,40,52, siendo el movimiento "orbital" medio diario aproximado calculado por los astrónomos del S. XIII.

Estas cantidades fueron determinadas según el sistema geocéntrico. En el actual sistema heliocéntrico el período orbital de Mercurio es de 87,96791667 días en comparación con los 115,878496691911 días en el sistema geocéntrico o ptolemaico.

La era alfonsí se inicia el lunes 01.01.1252 a las 12:00 h (mediodía), DJ 2178351 (Día Juliano). Según la Editio Princeps la era alfonsí comienza el sábado 01.06.1252 a las 12:00 h (mediodía), coronación del Rey Alfonso X, luego de 152 días del comienzo según las tablas alfonsíes castellanas.
