Description

Newfoundland Insectarium, Deer Lake, Newfoundland. I know I've made a lot of remarks in these captions about things I thought looked creepy, but in reality this was a pretty neat museum with interesting exhibits. Look at this violin beetle, representative of a species native to Thailand. What's not to be fascinated with? Did you know the big yellowish growths on the side of the abdomen are hard casings that protect the wing? Jesus! I love this kind of thing.

Insectarium de Terre-Neuve, Deer Lake, Terre-Neuve. Je sais que j'ai fait beaucoup de remarques dans ces légendes au sujet de choses que j'ai trouvé effrayant, mais en réalité, ceci était un très bon musée avec des expositions intéressantes. Regardez ce carabe violon, qui représente une espèce originaire de Thaïlande. Qu'est-ce qu'il y a qui est pas fascinant? Saviez-vous que les grandes excroissances jaunâtres sur le côté de son abdomen sont des couvertures dures qui protègent l'aile? Mon Dieu! J'adore ce genre de chose.

Miren este escarabajo violín, representante de una especie que procede de Tailandia. ¿Qué hay que no es fascinante? ¿Sabían ustedes que los grandes crecimientos amarillentos en el lado de su abdomen son unas carcasas duras que protegen el ala? ¡Dios mío! Me encanta este tipo de cosas.
