Near Pasadena, Newfoundland. Deer Lake is the name of both a large lake in western Newfoundland and a small but important town at its northeast tip. You're looking at the former now; we'll get to the latter soon. About 24 square miles (62 square kilometers) in area, Deer Lake is basically a wide inland basin of the Humber River which was given its name by the region's earliest European settlers, who mistook the woodland caribou who live in the region for deer. Près de Pasadena, Terre-Neuve. Le lac Deer est le nom d'un grand lac dans l'ouest de Terre-Neuve qui, à son tour, a donné son nom à une ville petite mais importante à sa pointe nord-est.
