Inaugurated in celebration of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897, the fountain sees the nymph Egeria standing atop a basin supported by a stout Corinthian column, surrounded by four babies each mounted atop a sea serpent. Like much of the Public Gardens, the Jubilee Fountain has been the beneficiary of a great deal of improvements recently. Hurricane Juan, which badly damaged the Gardens in 2003, was the catalyst: it spurred the establishment of the Public Gardens Foundation, which raised $1 million in its first 48 hours of existence and went on to be a massive financial boon to the Gardens, much of whose infrastructure hadn't been updated in over a century. Thanks to the Foundation, in 2012 the fountain was restored top-to-bottom and received a new eco-friendly pumping system; as well, a new roof was put on the bandstand the year before.

Grâce à la Foundation, en 2012 la fontaine a été restaurée de haut en bas et a reçu un nouvel système de pompage écologique; aucsi, un nouveau toit a été placé sur le kiosque à musique l'an précédent.
