Description

Spring Garden, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Welsford-Parker Monument and the Old Burying Ground gates, Barrington Street. Named for Major Augustus F. Welsford and Captain William B. C. A. Parker who both died in the Siege of Sebastopol, the monument is the second-oldest war memorial in Canada (dedicated in 1860, 32 years after Québec City's monument to Montcalm and Wolfe) and is the only monument to the Crimean War on the North American continent.

Spring Garden, Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse. Le monument Welsford-Parker et les portes de l'Ancien cimetière, rue Barrington. Nommé en honneur du Major Augustus F. Welsford et du Capitaine William B. C. A. Parker, tous les deux d'entre qui sont morts lors du siège de Sébastopol, le monument est le deuxième plus ancien mémorial de guerre du Canada (consacré en 1860, 32 ans après le monument de Montcalm et Wolfe à Québec) et c'est le seul monument à la Guerre de Crimée sur le continent nord-américain.
