Description

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. One of North America's leading seafood processing companies, the largest of High Liner Foods' four plants (as well as the corporate headquarters) is located in Lunenburg. Here are produced a full line of frozen foods including fish, lobster, shrimp, scallops, and other shellfish that will be served in restaurants or sold in supermarkets all over Canada, the United States and Mexico under the High Liner, Sea Cuisine, Fisher Boy, and Mirabel brand names. Founded in 1899 under the name W.C. Smith & Company, High Liner's plant at Battery Point was once the largest fish factory in Canada, and still employs some 300 workers.
