Kejimkujik National Park, Nova Scotia. Kejimkujik Lake viewed from Jim Charles Point. 2009 was a time in which I was much more reckless in the pursuit of the perfect photo: I slid down a steep, forested slope from the campground, easily 150 feet (45m) down, and stopped myself just before plunging feet-first into the water. When I took this photo, I was holding my camera with one hand while grasping a tree tightly with my opposite arm to keep my footing. After climbing back to the top, I met two ladies who told me they'd heard some tree branches snapping and were about to call for help because they assumed someone had fallen into the lake. Le lac Kejimkujik vu depuis la pointe Jim-Charles. 2009 a été une époque quand j'étais beaucoup plus téméraire lors de ma poursuite de la photo parfaite: j'ai glissé le long d'une pente raide et boisée depuis le terrain de camping, au moins 45 mètres vers le bas, et je me suis arrêté juste avant ce que me pieds auraient été dans l'eau. Lorsque j'ai pris cette photo, je tenais mon appareil-photo avec une seule main alors que je saisissais bien un arbre avec mon bras opposé pour garder mon pied. Après ce que j'ai remonté la colline, j'ai rencontré deux dames qui m'ont dit qu'ils avaient entendu quelques branches casser et étaient sur le point d'appeler à l'aide parce qu'elles avaient supposé que quelqu'un était tombé dans le lac. Parque Nacional Kejimkujik, Nueva Escocia. El Lago Kejimkujik visto desde la Punta de Jim Charles. 2009 fue un tiempo cuando yo era mucho más temerario en la búsqueda de la foto perfecta: me deslicé por una pendiente pronunciada y boscosa desde el campamento, por lo meos 45 metros hacia abajo, y me detuve justo antes que me habría hundido los pies en el agua. Cuando tomé esta foto, yo estaba sosteniendo la cámara con una sóla mano mientras agarrando un árbol firmemente con el brazo opuesto para mantener mi equilibrio. Tras que subí a la cima de nuevo, encontré a dos señoras que me dijeron que habían oído algunas ramas romperse y estaban a punto de pedir ayuda porque ellas habían asumido que alguien se hubiera caído en el lago. |
