Description
English: Pictured (right) is HMS Northumberland undertaking a Replenishment at Sea (RAS) from the French Navy tanker 'Somme' during Exercise Trident Juncture 18 which took place off the Norwegian coast in 2018.

The multinational NATO exercise included warships from as far away as Turkey and the United States. Another NATO ship can be seen waiting their turn behind HMS Northumberland.

Around 150 aircraft, including a Merlin Mk2 from 814 NAS aboard Northumberland, 65 vessels and up to 10,000 vehicles took part in the exercise, which was centred around central and eastern Norway, the North Atlantic and Baltic Sea, including Iceland and the airspace of Finland and Norway.
