Description
Français : Élément classé comme monument le 21 avril 1982 : Les façades, les charpentes et les toitures de l'immeuble sis 1 quai Taille-Pierres.

Cette habitation d’angle, élancée et imposante est caractérisée par son pignon à rue. Reconstruite en 1924, la façade de quatre niveaux imite le type traditionnel du XVIIe siècle. Elle est composée de pierre appareillée (rez-de-chaussée et premier étage) et de briques couvertes d’un badigeon rouge. Le rez-de-chaussée est ouvert de trois baies à croisée et d’un encadrement de porte communiquant avec celui de la façade secondaire, rue Chèrequefosse. Le premier étage est, quant à lui, percé de quatre baies à croisée similaires. Les étages supérieurs sont une ré-interprétation du type tournaisien (alternance de briques et de pierre aux encadrements des baies) et sont couronnés par un pignon en escalier. La verticalité de l’édifice est contrebalancée par les multiples bandeaux et cordons soulignant l’horizontalité de l’ouvrage.
