THIS GROUP 0F TEMPLES COMPRISE MAHAKAL, HAZARESHVAR AND UNDESHVAR TEMPLES BESIDES THE MANDAKINI KUND. THESE TEMPLES ARE RANGING BETWEEN ELEVENTH AND THIRTEENTH CENTURY A.D. WITH MAHAKAL BEING THE OLDEST. THE MAHAKAL IS A DOUBLE-SHRINED TEMPLE HAVING A COMMON SABHAMANDAPA AND A PORCH. THE HAZARESHAVR TEMPLE DISPLAYS BHUMIJA STYLE 0F ARCHITECTURE AND CONSISTS OF A SHRINE AND A MANDAPA.THE SHRINE CONTAINS A HUGE LINGA DECORATED WITH HUNDREDS OF SMALL LINGAS. AN INSCRIPTION OF THE MANDAPA INDICATES THAT THE TEMPLE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PASHUPAT SECT OF SHAIVISM. THE TEMPLE OF UNDESHVAR MAHADEVA IS OF TYPICAL BHUMIJA STYLE AND CONSISTS OF A SHRINE, SABHAMANDAPA AND A PORCH ON AN AXIS. THE SANCTUM IS ABOUT 2.4 M
