| Description |
English: Tórsgøta is a street in the center of Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. It starts near the western harbour and ends in the center of town where Niels Finsensgøta starts. Hotel Tórshavn and Miðlahúsið are located in the beginning of Tórsgøta. A variety of cultural events take place in Tórsgøta, in the part of the street which is between Steinatún (Bøkjarabrekka) and the harbour. The National Theater of the Faroe Islands is in Tórsgøta, Margarinfabrikkin, which now is a youth center is also in Tórsgøta and on the 27 July the Ólavsøka Concert is held there (it has been the last few years, earlier it has been held in other places in Tórshavn). This photo was taken on 28 July 2010, which is Ólavsøka Eve, the day when the rowing competions take place. Ólavsøka Day is on 29 July. Ólavsøka is the national holiday of the Faroe Islands.
